SIFI S.p.A.

SIFI was founded in 1935 by two farseeing Catania chemists, Antonio Benanti and Carmelo Chines. It is a specialised pharmaceutical company involved in research, production and commercialisation of drugs for the prevention and treatment of eye diseases. In 1952 the Company became a Società per Azioni denominated SIFI S.p.A. and today is managed by Giuseppe Benanti, a second-generation entrepreneur versed in pharmacy and management. SIFI's industrial policy focuses on the qualification of its human resources and the introduction of innovative systems to improve the Company's performance and market position. Advanced tecnology and production methods are SIFI's answers to the international challenge. The Company is able to succesfully compete with multinational pharmaceutical companies and develops advanced, sofisticated technology in the pharmaceutical sector to accomplish its strategic goals. We feel we are a european company sited in Italy, this is why SIFI launched an ambitious internationalisation programme in 90's.
