Merck-Lipha s.a.

Lipha became in 1995, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the German group, Merck KGaA (Darmstadt). The specialist fields of Lipha Group are diabetes and related complications, the study of alcoholism, endocrinology and acne. After taking over Monot in 1996, Lipha OTC ranks fifth among French laboratories in OTC products (available at pharmacies and parapharmacies without a prescription).
In active support of the French policy introduced to control health spending, Lipha resolved to create a new subsidiary in 1995: Merck Génériques. In France, Merck Génériques (www.merckgeneriques.tm.fr) is the leading laboratory in urban sales of generics marketed under International Non-Proprietary Name (the name of the molecule). The range of products on offer is being steadily increased by 15 to 20 molecules every year.
