The company’s Targaceutical™ technology involves the chemical attachment of lipid vectors to pharmaceutical agents to create small-molecule drugs with improved medical performance. Protarga has a pipeline of Targaceutical™ products in development for the treatment of certain cancers, neurological disorders and infectious diseases. Phase I clinical evaluation of Protarga’s first product candidate, Taxoprexin® DHA-paclitaxel for cancer chemotherapy, began in May 1999 at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. A worldwide Phase II development program for this compound will begin in the fall of 2000
