Crescendo was formed by ALZA for the purpose of selecting and developing human pharmaceutical products (the Crescendo Products) and commercializing such products, most likely through licensing to ALZA.
Crescendo Products generally are expected to combine ALZA's drug delivery technologies with available therapeutic agents. In addition, Crescendo may fund the development of products licensed from third parties that complement ALZA's product pipeline or otherwise provide a significant commercialization opportunity for ALZA.
