Triangle Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (the Company or Triangle) is building a specialty pharmaceutical company dedicated to developing effective solutions for serious viral disease, with a particular focus on therapies for the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), including the acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) and the hepatitis B virus (HBV). Triangle has assembled a strong portfolio of antiviral drug candidates. The Company plans to continue strengthening its pipeline via the ongoing development of its active drug candidates and the selective in-licensing of additional targeted compounds for the treatment of serious diseases. Triangle is capitalizing on its development, clinical and regulatory expertise, as well as on advances in virology and immunology, to develop compounds that can be used alone or in combination (coactively) to treat serious diseases. Prior to their employment with Triangle, members of the Company’s senior management team played instrumental roles in the identification, clinical development and commercialization of several leading antiviral therapies.
