Dynal Biotech is a biotechnology company with worldwide leadership in the separation and manipulation of biological material (DNA, cells, and proteins). Dynal, was formed in 1986, in July 2001, Dynal Biotech was acquired by the Swedish equity firm Nordic Capital.
Today, the superparamagnetic particles supplied by Dynal Biotech are known as Dynabeads® and have become established as the leading technology for capture, handling and detection of biological material. Dynal Biotech supplies a wide range of Dynabeads® along with non-magnetic monosized beads sold under the name Dynosphere®. Dynal has exclusive worldwide rights to all commercial use of the patents related to monosized polymer particles for use in biomagnetic separations and non-exclusive rights for diagnostic applications. The advantages of Dynabeads biomagnetic separation has been employed by many scientists around the world, and has allowed many scientists to achieve previously unattainable results. Because Dynabeads has a long history in research labs worldwide, an invaluable pool of product applications and helpful laboratory hints has been accumulated. In addition, a database of more than 2,500 publications on Dynabeads applications exists.
